Re: Upcycling our sandpit to a raised garden bed. This project didn't take as long as the laundry reno! I used sleepers as struts and for the additional height, then cladding with decking timber. I managed to reuse lots of plants around the home and garden, with some friendly additions from my neighbors and woolaaa - my tropical raised garden bed.

We went to bunnings for sleepers (1.5m x 20cm x 5cm) hand planed it till it was smooth then measured 1.3m for width did a half joint (forgot propper name) used enamel paint. The next step will be either a bench seat lid or a chalk board lid.

Hi , It sounds like you are planning on painting the sleepers, which is good. In the article, we are using treated Pine sleepers, and depending on your location, there should be options like the Sienna sleepers that are not CCA-treated. It would be my recommendation to use a non-CCA-treated sleeper
